Research is done on variety of fields in the department labs.
Students gain better understanding on courses with technical field visits and benefit from engineers experiences from industry and goverment institutions .
Dumlupınar University has attened Alternative Energy Car Races in Elektromobil (Battery Electric Powered Vehicles) category by TÜBİTAK Science and Society Department with DUSCART vehicle and team in 2015.
Hydrogen vehicle project, HEZARFEN, was started in 2011, and still continues with the collaboration of Electrical-Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments. Our first generation hydrogen vehicle, HEZARFEN, came 10 among 28 universities in 2012 race and sucessfully completed the race.
Dumlupınar University Solar Car Team attended Alternative Energy Car Race by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) with Porsecar, Bin 4 Yüz Elli 3, SANCAKTAR, and Aizonai13 in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013 respectively. The team came 13th out of 39 teams in İzmit bay speedway in the 2013 race. We are getting ready for the next race with new goals for the project which encourage team work formed by attendance of first electrical-electronics, computer, mechanical, and material science engineering students, and other departments' students; and enabling students to put the theoretical knowledge into practice by feeling the race exciment.
Senior students in fiber optic communication systems course and master students in fotonic and advanced fiber optic systems course put theoretical knowledge into practice in this lab.
