Electrical Machines covers theory, electromagnetic and electrostatic analyses, modeling, optimization, computer aided design (CAD), diagnostics, heating, cooling, investigation of space and time harmonics, electromagnetic field calculation of power transformers and electrical machines.

Energy and Power Systems

Energy and Power Systems are related to Electric Power Plants, Energy Transmission and Distribution Systems, and High Voltage. In this context, research is done on analyses, planning, construction, operation, protection and maintenance of energy systems. In addition to that research, this field contains design of power electronics circuits and systems, switching power supplies, resonance converters, uninterruptable power sources, design, modeling, and optimization of active filters.

Circuits and Systems covers analyses and theory of basic circuit components, computer aided design (CAD) of circuits and its practical applications, application of theoretical concepts to signal processing and systems, and industrial applications.

Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave

Educational and research efforts are mainly focused on Electromagnetic Waves, Microwave Techniques and Antennas. Analysis and designs in applied electromagnetic theory with advanced analytical and/or numerical methods, microwave circuit and systems, and antenna designs are within this area.

Communication

Theory of data communication,  its practical solutions and models; data, phone, telegraph, fax, and P2P telecommunication devices including TV; their data transmission over RF, air interface, electromagnetic propagation, wave guide, underground, overground, and submarine coaxial and fiberoptic cable,  satellite, and lasers; error detection and correction, signal storage and recovery, signal multiplexing and carrier techniques are in this area.

Applications are related to signal, image, and voice processing, wireless systems, cell phones, satellite data transmission, TV and radio systems, fiberoptic technology, microwave systems, code encryption and decryption, and digital signal processing.

Control Systems covers control system theory, linear multiple variable control systems, chaos control, linear or nonlinear system modeling, simulation, linearization, feedback control system design, stability, and frequency response, optimal control, digital control systems, discrete time signals, industrial automation, analog and digital control of electrical systems, process control, instrumentation and measurement, robotic, artificial intelligence systems (Fuzzy control, artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms etc.), computer aided design.
